Award-Winning Towns Don’t Just Happen
Michael Mays, Director of Planning and Development for the Village of Woodridge, and additional panelists presented a program entitled "Award-Winning Towns Don't Just Happen: The Role of Planning in Woodridge's Past, Present, and Future" held on February 23rd at the Woodridge public library.  The presentation was made in honor of Woodridge’s 50th year of incorporation.  Mays presented a brief overview of urban planning to tie in with Daniel Burnham’s regional planning document know as The Plan of Chicago, which celebrates a 100-year anniversary this year. The main focus of the program was how urban planning has played a pivotal role in the Village’s successful development.  Mays also moderated a discussion by panelists that have been involved in the Village’s critical development moments.  See below for photo graphs of the event.
