The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 created private activity bonds called Recovery Zone Facility Bonds. These bonds are a lower-cost method of financing a development projects. The bonds can be used for the construction of new or expanded buildings and for the purchase of equipment used in the trade or business. Most industry-sector businesses are eligible including Corporate Centers, Research and Development, Information Technology, Finance/Insurance, Healthcare, Transportation Warehousing Logistics, Manufacturing, and Hospitality/Tourism/ Retail. 

DuPage County’s Recovery Zone Facility Bond Program is administered by Choose DuPage which started accepting applications on September 23, 2009. Applications will be accepted and processed on a first come-first serve basis, and the bonds must be issued by December 31, 2010.
