  1. Jim Steward Memorial Scholarship - Deadline - April 15

    March 4, All Day

    The Woodridge VFW offers two scholarship opportunities, and a total of three $500 scholarships awarded. The deadline for these scholarships is April 15th. Jim Stewart Memorial Scholarship: To be considered, the applicant must be a descendant of a VFW-eligible veteran, and graduating from either Downers Grove North or South High School in the current school year with plans to pursue a higher education.

  2. Robert R. Kolling Memorial Scholarship - Deadline - April 15

    The Woodridge VFW offers two scholarship opportunities, and a total of three $500 scholarships awarded. The deadline for these scholarships is April 15th. Robert R. Kolling Memorial Scholarship: To be considered, the applicant must be a United States military veteran who is VFW eligible or a related family member of and a current or enrolling student at College of DuPage.

  3. Rotary Service Above Self Scholarship - Application Deadline April 10

    The Woodridge Rotary is now accepting applications for the Service Above Self Scholarship Award ($2,000) for graduating High School Seniors. The scholarships provide financial support to students who have participated in community service activities and have done so over several years' time. The Rotary Club is looking for students who have made a difference within their community by enriching the lives of others, especially those in need. The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10th. More information is available on the Rotary website.

  4. Save the Date - Sipley School Spring Cleaning Fun Drive - April 21

    Clean out your closet and help John L. Sipley School at the same time! Mark your calendar for Sipley's Spring Cleaning Fun Drive on Friday, April 21st, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., at Sipley School, 2806 83rd St. By donating gently-used clothing, shoes, accessories, books, linens, and small household items (no furniture), you can help raise funds for the school's End of Year Picnic.   5. Woodridge 68 Full-Day Kindergarten Information Meetings - March 14 and 22

    March 4, All Day

    Woodridge School District 68 will hold two informational meetings about full-day kindergarten. This expanded opportunity for students will begin in the 2017-18 school year. Attendees will hear details about the program and have the opportunity to ask questions. The meetings are Tuesday, March 14 (presented in both English & Spanish) and Wednesday, March 22 (presented in English only). Both meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and held at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School, 7200 Janes Avenue, Woodridge. The same material will be presented at each session.   6. Woodridge Jr. Woman's Club Scholarship - Deadline April 1

    The Woodridge Jr. Woman's Club is offering a $500 scholarship recognizing a Woodridge high school senior for their community service contributions, as well as scholastic achievement. Applicants must reside in Woodridge and attach two letters or recommendation, along with high school transcript. Scholarship winners will be announced in May 2017.

  7. Woodridge Special Events Committee Kagann Scholarship - Applications Due by March 31

    March 4, All Day

    The WSEC is sponsoring their annual scholarship to honor its founder, Joel Kagann. The award will be presented to a current eighth grade student living in Woodridge, based on his/her community service involvement. The award will pay up to $500 for the winner's registration fees for his/her first year in high school. Nominations must be received by March 31st and the winner will be notified by April 28th.

  8. West Suburban Community Pantry Car Seat Class

    March 4, 2:15 PM

    Join the West Suburban Community Pantry for a car seat safety class on Saturday, March 4th at the Athletic Recreation Center, 8201 S. Janes Ave. in Woodridge. Class will begin promptly at 2:30 p.m., so please arrive by 2:15 p.m. A free convertible car seat will be distributed to attendees following a one-hour class on car seat safety and the class is provided in English & Spanish. Registration is required and class size is limited, to register or for more information call Denice at (630) 948-8135.
