  1. Woodridge VFW Scholarship Opportunities - Deadline April 15

    The Woodridge VFW offers two scholarship opportunities, and a total of three $500 scholarships awarded. The deadline for these scholarships is April 15th. Jim Stewart Memorial Scholarship: To be considered, the applicant must be a descendant of a VFW-eligible veteran, and graduating from either Downers Grove North or South High School in the current school year with plans to pursue a higher education. Kolling Memorial Scholarship: To be considered, the applicant must be a United States military veteran who is VFW eligible or a related family member of and a current or enrolling student at College of DuPage.   2. Woodridge Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt - April 15

    The Woodridge Lions Club will host the 48th annual Lion Jerry Pech Memorial Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15th at Jefferson Junior High School, 7200 Janes Avenue in Woodridge beginning at 11:00 a.m. Parents and children are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes early and to bring a basket or bag. More than 5,000 plastic eggs will be filled with candy and prizes, and separate areas for five different age groups will be sanctioned off on the field for safety - including an area for children 2 years and under. The event is FREE and open to children up to 10 years old. The Lions Club will also be collecting non-perishable items for the West Suburban Community Pantry in honor of Lion Joel Kagann. The Lions Club would like to thank Abri Credit Union, Boy Scout Troop 512, and the Live Like Mike Foundation for their support of this event.
